Financial Aid
Once an applicant is accepted and registered, a Financial Aid counselor certifies enrollment and continues to mentor you through the program. The program staff works closely with OSFA to guide you through the process. Virginia Tech considers the Pamplin Executive MBA a two-year graduate program with the same financial aid benefits that are granted to full-time graduate students. We recommend that you consider this option early in the application process to maximize your choices in financing the program cost. As a full-time student, you are eligible for up to $20,500 with a low rate FAFSA loan per each academic year. Financial Aid Information for Executive MBA Students. We recommend that all applicants maintain a folder to keep and maintain all communication records with the Financial Aid office to facilitate and ensure a straightforward application loan and maintenance process.
Loans
For a complete loan comparison list please visit the Financial Aid website. The most common loan EMBA students apply to is the Federal Stafford Loan which is a loan from the US Dept of Education. Based on the information you will provide on the loan application, you will be allowed up to $20,500 in loans per academic year. Therefore, you may be eligible for $20,500 for academic year 2009-2010, and another $20,500 for academic year 2010-2011. The current loan rate on these federal Stafford loan is 6.8% fixed. Once you are fully admitted in the program you may apply for this loan by visiting www.fafsa.ed.gov. The school code for Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University is #003754. As a new EMBA student, you may file the application for financial aid called FAFSA for 2009-2010. Once this application is filled out, the financial aid office will be able to review you for application. Since $41,000 will not be sufficient to cover the program, you would probably have to consider a second loan; most students are recommended to apply for the Graduate Plus loan.
